Galliate Lombardo is a small town in the province of Varese, located not far from the provincial capital and situated on a verdant hillside on the Southern shores of Lake Varese. The discovery of a Roman tomb in area Vigna Lunga certify that this area was inhabited since ancient times. It was already ruled by Consuls in 1199, evidenced in an official document of the times and in 1538 it was a fief ruled by Egidio Bossi, to whom, however, the population did not pay the feudal rights. In 1786 it became part of the province of Gallarate, together with other towns that till then belonged to the Parish of Varese.

Not to miss:
- the Parish of Sts Gervaso and Protaso, of ancient construction: it was already mentioned in a list of existing churches in 1289 by Geoffredo da Bussero. The present appearance of the church is not the original one, but it is the result of a restructuring carried out in the XIX century, flanked by the bell tower that dates back to 1865.
