Sardinian West Coast

Description

North-western Sardinia is characterized by predominantly flat and hilly coasts, which are presents also in the central area, with the presence of wetlands of great interest, as the pond of Marceddì, particularly rich in fish species. Large beaches, wonderful views and untouched nature are the main theme of South-western area of the isle.
Sardinian craft is very active: from the baskets of Anglona, that find their rightful place of maximum expression in the weaving museum of Castelsardo, from the vermentino wines of Meilogu to the oils of the Sassarese and the embroideries of Villanova.
The territories of Sulcis and Iglesiente have been substantially modified by the intense mining activity that had characterised the area for many a year, leaving traces of what is known as manufacturing archaeology.
