Trevico
Description
Trevico is the highest town of the Campania region and it is called the "roof of Campania", because at 1094 metres above sea level. The origin go back to the Longobard period, even if the town was probably mentioned by the Latin poet Oratio in one of his satires.
Today, it still has the plan of a medieval village: the XVI century Port'Alba introduces u sto the historic center. The remains of an ancient Medieval Castle, built on the hghest point of the town, are still visible.
The Cathedral dedicated to Madonna Assunta was built in the XV century and, then, totally restored three century later; it preserves an interesting XV century baptismal font and a wooden choir.
