Ancient Samnites village, called Tulosiom, subsequently it was conquered by the Romans, as many archaeological relics still document. The Roman city was fortified by large walls and was located between Telese and San Salvatore. Devastated by the barbarian invasion, it was re-built by the Normans, becoming an important town of the area.
Telese is also renowned due to the therapeutic benefits of its thermal waters, rich in sulphur.
