La Valle
Description
La Valle (Valley in English, Wengen in German and Val in Ladino) is a town in the province of Bolzano, located in Val Badia, perched on a green hillside, at short distance from the Nature Park Fanes-Sennes and Braies.
The first documented evidence of the presence of the town dates back to 1382 and is related to the existence of a church, to which had been granted the privilege of guarding the Sacred Chrism.
Sites of Interest:
- the Chapel of the Cemetery;
- the Parish Church with a Baroque altar and a commemoration painting of Max Gher;
- the Oratory with its Baroque frescoes;
- the ruins of the old village Church, of which are still visible stretches of the external walls and the bell tower;
- the typical masi (farms).
