Bormio

Description

Popular ski resort in the province of Sondrio, Bormio is located at the intersection between Valfurva and the Valley of the Adda, not far from the border with Switzerland and Austria, in the Stelvio National Park. Already praised by Pliny the Elder for the preparatory properties of its thermal waters, in the Middle Ages was the seat of a Contado, relatively independent from the rest of the Valtellina. Today it is not only an international ski sport resort but features also modern and efficient hospitality services.
