Description

Villa Sant'Anna: a feminine touch in the heart of Montepulciano

Discover a place where passion, history, and nature blend in perfect harmony. Villa Sant'Anna, nestled among the rolling hills of Montepulciano, is a family-run winery led with care and dedication by Simona and her daughters, Anna and Margherita.

A story deeply rooted in tradition

With nearly two centuries of family heritage, Villa Sant'Anna stands as a symbol of Tuscan winemaking excellence.
The vineyards extend across the gentle slopes surrounding Abbadia di Montepulciano — an area renowned for producing wines of remarkable quality. Since 1993, the estate has been bottling its own Vino Nobile, focusing on local grape varieties and precise cellar craftsmanship.

Wines with genuine character

Villa Sant'Anna offers a refined selection of wines that express the true essence of the land:

  • Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG - the estate's flagship wine, matured in large barrels and barriques to enhance the territory's distinctive character.

  • Poldo - a special selection of Vino Nobile with extended aging and limited production.

  • Rosso di Montepulciano DOC - a fresher, more immediate expression of the terroir, ideal for everyday enjoyment.

  • Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG - crafted from Sangiovese grapes and aged in wood, rich in structure and personality.

  • Vin Santo di Montepulciano DOC - made from Malvasia, Pulceinculo, and Trebbiano grapes, aged for at least eight years in small barrels (caratelli); a wine for pure meditation.

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil - obtained from Moraiolo, Leccino, Frantoio, and Pendolino cultivars, hand-harvested and cold-pressed to preserve all natural aromas.

Experiences to enjoy

Visitors are welcomed for guided tours and tastings in the winery's evocative underground cellars. Each experience lasts about 90 minutes and includes a tasting of Chianti Colli Senesi, Rosso di Montepulciano, and Vino Nobile — including special reserve selections.

The visit is more than a simple tasting: it's an intimate journey through the traditions, aromas, and stories that define this corner of Tuscany. Guests often praise the warmth of the welcome and the depth of the explanations provided during the tour.

Why choose Villa Sant'Anna

  • Female-led passion and authenticity: three women united by love for wine and land.

  • Respect for nature and tradition: sustainable vineyard practices and aging in historic cellars.

  • Boutique-quality wines: authentic Tuscan identity in every bottle.

  • A complete Tuscan experience: wine, culture, and hospitality come together for an unforgettable journey.
