Roman coastline

Description

The Romano Coast is the stretch of coastline set between Anzio and Civitavecchia.
Civitavecchia was always at the centre of military interests during the past for its strategic position; now it is port of embarkation to Sardinia. Touristic ports are at Riva di Traiano and Santa Marinella, while there is landing for motorboats and ribs at Santa Severa.
The low coastline continues as far as Ladispoli, then we find Palo, with its dense wood.
Very elegant is Fregene, with its gracious cottages set in the pine forest; Fiumicino is the river port of Rome and it is known especially for the excellent fish and Lido di Ostia, characterized by a low and sandy coastline.
