Description
This little town was strategically important in the Middle Ages as a castle guarding the Val d'Ambra. At a short distance stands the Romanesque Pieve di Galatrona with a font attributed to Luca della Robbia. A fine work of art is the Badia di San Pietro at Ruoti, one of the most important Camaldolese abbeys in the province of Arezzo. Several are the medieval castles among which the castle of Cennina is characterized by stones and bricks and by a castelry architecture.
