The estate is established on four different land parcels but is conducted in an unitary manner by the onwer family even because all the different parcels are within the The story of Tenuta Vitanza begun in 1994 when Rosalba Vitanza and his to be husband Guido Andretta went for a romantic week-end in Montalcino in province of Siena. They were guest of a friend, now a fellow producer, that told them he was trying to sell the original property in Montalcino to buy a bigger place also in the area. At that time they was both living in Rome.

Guido is an Aerospace Engineer and was doing business as Management Consultant with his own company based in United Kingdom and United States. He was Managing Director of a management and training consultancy with full responsibility, with Decision Makers as clients in medium to large size organizations in public and private sectors working in different areas like transportation, pharmaceutical, banking, services, telecommunications, etc.

Rosalba has a Ph.D. in Philosophy and she was doing some teaching jobs at Rome University La Sapienza. As she said she doesn't change much her job because she can use a lot of her philosophical studies in her winemaking techniques even if after everything is done with the help of chemistry that translate the poetry of the wine in the wine itself.

In 1994 so they decide to buy this first property, Podere Renaione, a country house build before 1600, together with 4 acres of vineyard, oliv trees and fruit trees with the idea of doing some wine for them and their friends. Rosalba took full responsibility of the estate and started to getting into winemaking with the help of a Famous consultant enologist of Siena.

The first Brunello di Rosalba was, of course, the year 1995 that was immediately welcomed by critics of the journalistic field and even received 93 points from Wine Spectator important American magazine. That was a really good start and that gave to Rosalba more strength to continue in this new adventure and she decided to focus his studies in philosophy, no more, but everything that could be helpful in understanding its vineyard, its cellar its wine and cooperate actively with the Agronomist and the Enologist.

In 1998 Rosalba is convinced that the best thing to do would be to buy new properties so with Guido decided to enlarge their company reaching some 40 hectares of land and 16 of vineyard is projected to reach an output of 150,000 bottles per year, when all vineyards were in production.

In 1999, Macomb, USA, was born their lovely daughter Emma Sophia Andretta, while Guido had occupied the headquarters of its U.S. business, it certainly gave greater force to the reports, already 'strong, with the United States.

Rosalba in 2002 finally managed to convince Guido to sell its assets and the proceeds invested more in the beginning, the construction of the basement of their new 2,000 square meters and restructuring Podere Belvedere on a beautiful hill Torrenieri, in the vicinity of Montalcino .

Tenuta Vitanza and is one of the companies in the province of Siena, which has obtained the certificate for traceability. Indeed, in the near future, customers may throw the web, typing in the number of the bottle, given the history and then tracing the bottle of wine they bought. Will be able, therefore, to know everything about the bottle, the cork on wine, where and for how long and was aged, what kind of fermentation had come from which the vineyard, which were the climatic conditions of that year and what the Climatic condition of that parcel of vineyard where it comes from their bottle of wine.

In 2005, their fifth harvest, their work and 'was awarded a major prize at the European level: the "3 Glasses" by the Gambero Rosso for the 2000 harvest.

From 2001 to the present, and 'was a series of excellent scores on important magazines such as 93 points on Wine Spectator, as the great entries and bronze medals of Vinitaly and two red glasses and a half on the Gambero Rosso continuing so 'to gratify the intense work done.

The estate is established on four different land parcels but is conducted in an unitary manner by the onwer family even because all the different parcels are within the Montalcino boundaries.

In particular the headquarters are located at Podere Belvedere outside of the village of Torrenieri one of the four Montalcino territory villages, where the new cellar and a small vineyard is located.
