San Nicola la Strada is located along the Via Appia and, precisely, along the way that connected Capua to Benevento. Today it is a predominantly agricultural town; during the past, indeed, an intense mining activity, in order to extract construction materials for the Royal Palace of Caserta, characterized this area (especially tuff, still visible in the urban furniture).
