Description

Turin is a city with many facets: it is warm, welcoming and magical, and thanks to the great opportunity posed by the 20th Winter Olympic Games, it has been transformed by new and exciting architectural projects and avant-garde infrastructures. It is indeed a city with an eye on the modern and great attention is paid to contemporary art; but Turin is also a city of history and tradition with its Baroque palaces and churches, its royal residences, its eighteen kilometres of porticoes, more than forty museums, a reputation as capital of chocolate and the famous gianduiotti. The capital of Piedmont is a city rich in cultural events: contemporary art exhibitions, the theatre, cinema and music festivals; but it is also a city where certain traditions thrive and make life worth living, such as the ritual of the aperitif which was first introduced to Turin in the eighteenth century and has continued through the generations to the present-day.
