Ferrigno Art San Gregorio Armeno

Giuseppe Ferrigno and his son Marco are leading figures of the Neapolitan art of terracotta shepherds. The father has taught to its son until from small the own art. Every shepherd is hand-made, which oftenarte assembled in prestty and suggestive scenes, inspired by XVIII century Neapolitan art and by their own fantasy.
You can appreiciate that their work is not only a valuable object, but also a genuine piece of Neapolitan culture, being handed down from father to son since 1836, when the First Ferrigno began this special activity.
Today, the Ferrigno family continue to work with same tecniques and materials based on terracotta, timber, silver and San Leucio silks, an important silk factory near Caserta, which was founded by King IV Borbonic Ferdinando.

Giuseppe welcomes everybody in his shop with enthusiasm and friendliness. There everybody can see him working on terracotta with a perfect skill. Before creating shepherds, carefully he designs the scene, so he always produces great masterpieces. Marco followshis father in this way, enriching their work with a lot of small initiative which shows all his youthful sensitivity.
Quiete often Giuseppe and Marco Ferrigno take part in international exbitions and the international press often talk about their art. They have been winners of "The First Award Europe" and for three consecutive years of "Primo Premio San Gregorio Armeno". Ferrigno's work is shown not only in Italy, But also in cities like New York City, Paris, Arles, Stuttgard, Malmo.
