The City Hall
After the expedition of the Thousand, in 1860, during a municipal council, the chairman Calogero Gubernale proposed to built the Town Hall. This one, known as City Hall, was built acquiring part of the Dominican fathers' Convent. The building was planned by Salvatore Rizza, engineer and architect, and was ended in 1870, and its main front led to Cassaro Road, now Corso Garibaldi. The neoclassical front ends with a magnificent coat of arms, bearing the cross and bees symbols. Inside there are scenic staircase and an elegant coffered-ceiling hall. On the overdoors there are paintings representing the excellent products of this land.
