Those like us Zorzettig, who are carrying on the heritage of generations of grape/growers, have a natural attitude of respect toward the land and its culture, not less important than the curiosity and the wish of achieving always better results. Roncal is a small estate, just a 20 hectares of absolute quality, where every single gesture, on the vineyard as well as in the cellar, is made with love, care and great rigour, because for me and my family an excellent wine represents a fundamental reason of pride.

The name of our firm, Roncal, in Friuli means terraced estate on a hill, and ronchi are in fact the hill/sides commanding this striking landscape.The slopes of our vineyards, surrounding the hill of Montebello, favoured by an excellent exposure and the sandstone/marl soil, are the ideal for growing grape.At Roncal the grape harvest is properly delayed in order to pick up the grapes when they come to their full ripeness. The process is then carried out within the factory cellars with traditional mathods under controlled temperatures. Here as well, tradition and modernity keep living together. So, near the shiny and cold steel basins stand the sweet-smelling oak casks, where the wines are maturing and the fragrance becomes full-blown.

In the highlands of Montebello, nestled within the delicate rolling vineyards of the Colli Orientali of Friuli, lies an elegant country manor with seven comfortable rooms, each of which bears the name of the most renowned local grapes:Schioppettino, Pignolo and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso on the first floor and Ribolla Gialla, Tocai Friulano, Verduzzo Friulano and Picolit on the second floor.A peaceful and serene residence, equipped with the most modern of comforts, breath-taking views of vineyards as far as the eye can see, inviting and tranquil country roads, ideal for trekking and just relaxing.
