In the Historical Centre of Padula rises the hotel "Villa Cosilinvm".
Cosilinvm is the name of the ancient Padula so named in period tardo-lucano, datable around the VI century b.C., and from which wording we have borrowed the name of our hotel and of our wine.
It is a project thought and realized by Amedeo, Davide and Giovanni Cancellaro, with the purpose of revisiting pages of the history of the ancient Lucania, rewrotten in 1900, from Giovanni Patroni and Don Arcangelo Rotunno, that recovered in the near cretacica dorsal, that is risen on the actual Padula, the epigraph of Vehilivs, first Curator of the ancient valley (Cvr. R. P. Cosilinativm) named by the emperor Traiano in the 105 a.C. around.
Villa Cosilinvm is built with Padula stone, the same used for building the fourteenth-century Certosa di San Lorenzo, declared by the Unesco world patrimony of the humanity. The building was already object of restructuring in 1700, today become the first hotel in the ancient Suburb of Padula, country of the portals, of the museums and of the medieval pavements, where the past conjugates it with the comfort of a place, motor of development of the historical centre, thought for giving a very special stay to the guests.
In the Villa we mythicize the re-proposition of archetype influences generating atmospheres that resound an epos, whose remembrances trace the whole territory of the Vallo di Diano, natural niche, that has guarded for centuries, the memories of the epic lucani warriors and the numerous ruins that can be placed in the period of Imperial Rome.
The hotel "Villa Cosilinvm" abducts the guest, spellbound and seduced by the evocative names of the rooms: Venvs, Bacchvs, Hercvlis Labores, Locvs Pvgnae and Ancilla Lucana, to quote only someone of the denominations that distinguishes the rooms themselves changing the concept of the number replaced by the fresco theme.
Who will melodiously be welcomed, magic condition will live to travel in the time, attracted by enchanting environments, as: the Triclinivm" the "Porticvm Hercvlis" or the "Cantina di Dioniso", that entitles the den of the unusual cave of the hotel, where the famous archaeological wine is guarded, that rests in its natural bed of silent stones and that have to be tasted pouring out it to dainty luculliani dishes.
