This charming and magical four-star hotel is situated on the green est of all Aeolian islands, Salina. With panoramic views of the sea, Hotel Signum was created from a group of antique houses, and is surrounded by two beautiful inactive volcanoes, and the most lush greenery and aromatic perfumes of the island's exquisite jasmine and citrus trees. It is also a short walk from a beautiful beach. The relaxing infinity swimming pool, many terraces, great bar and amazing restaurant all look out over the beautiful Mediterranean Sea, and will give you a feeling of being in a picture postcard. Each room is located in one of the newly renovated antique houses, chock full of furnitures and art indigenous of the island.

In 1988, husband and wife owners Clara Rametta and Michele Caruso had a dream of creating a luxury hotel in the viallage in which they were born. A task that was not so easy, because the village had problems with having a hotel in the middle of their small hamlet.So, they were shut down -- given a seal, or "sigillo." The Latin derivation of "sigillo" is "signum".

Eventually, the mayor's office had a change of heart, and Clara and Michele were able to begin their venture. They called it Hotel Signum, as an homage to the effort they had to put into getting it started.

They began with 16 rooms, and eventually expanded to 30 rooms. And their dream has become a reality for people from all over the world to enjoy.

On the island, there are many types of flowering plants. So we have honoured that by naming each of our rooms after one of those plants. Such as, Acanto, Malva, Cappero, Ginestra, etc. Each room is as unique as each of these beautiful flowers.All of our rooms are filled with antiques, and all have the modern conforts and conveniences of a four-star hotel. Some have terraces, some have balconies, and all the rooms have a beautiful view of either the garden or the sea.We have three tiers of rooms: Classic, Superior, and Deluxe. So there is a room to fit everyone's taste and wallet.
