On the road from Ragusa leading to the sea, Poggio del Sole Resort [Sun's Hill Resort] dominates the charming Hyblean plateau amid a mix of rugged valleys and hills, carob and olive trees, and a thick lattice of dry stone walls.

At the midpoint of the major centres in the Noto valley, the structure was built before the Baroque period, long enough ago at a time when people live their lives amidst the true nature of a historic land.

The "Poggio del Sole Resort," originated in 1879 as an old - fashioned rural residence, was carefully restructured and expanded in 2006 by the present owners

The old fashioned building hosts three suites, the refined "Dell'Angelo" [Of the Angel] restaurant, the "Degli Archi" [Of the Arches] conference room and a Lounge Bar.

Newly constructed is the more informal "Osteria" [carvery-room] with its stone oven and rooms.

To complete the structure there are an open-air swimming-pool with Jacuzzi corner and the garage

The Poggio del Sole Resort is the fruit of careful restoration work on the original residence of the 1800's and it's characteristic rural annexes: the elegant master house, the food provisions store, the barn, the stables and the guest quarters.

Once owned by Sir. Iacono, built as his summer residence with the attached farmhouse in 1879, the Poggio del Sole Resort was beautifully restored and opened for hospitality with rooms and suites.

SUITE LEVANTE [LEVANT SUITE], the main suite: a well-lit ambience, paved with the renowned black stone formerly extracted from the Hypblen quarries, the "pece" [pitch stone]; ample terraces that open onto the suggestive panoramas, and an elegant loft sleeping area

SUITE PONENTE [WEST SUITE]: in classic style, warm and cosy, endowed with an ample relaxing area, two settings furnished with large and elegant black-stone basins and hydromassage bath. Facing west it offers you an enjoyable and superb view from your terrace.

SUITE GRECALE [NORTH EAST SUITE]: Love at first sight for those who have the pleasure of staying here, with its four poster bed, the unique choice of decor, and for the two relaxing areas furnished with a shower and hydromassage bath. Facing South-East, its terrace looks onto the old stone courtyard, in the heart of the entire structure.

The esteemed "Dell'Angelo" restaurant, in the refined setting of the old farm barn, will take you on a long journey through Mediterranean flavours, with traditional products of the land and delicacies of the sea. Flavours and fragrances created to compliment its renowned fine wines.

The Osteria, opening out onto the splendid scenery of the Hyblean plateau, offers meat specialties, not only local, and fish. Cooked either over charcoal or in the traditional stone oven, which will bring out the best of the flavors.

The "Degli Archi" room is ideal for important receptions which require particular attention to detail and an unmistakeable versatility in its organisation.
