Description

The Hotel "Locanda sul mare" (Inn on the sea) welcomes you in the wonderful island of Ischia.

The hotel is situated in a first 900's small palace; it looks over the sea volcanic lake that was transformed into a harbour by Ferdinand 2nd Bourbon. The king inaugurated it in 1854.

The "Inn on the sea" has always been the lodging for people of culture and art from all over the world.

We can quote the German painter Hans Purrmann, one among the founders of Matisse's painting school. Purrmann loved painting views of the Bourbon harbour from the windows of the hotel.

Purrmann brought to the knowledge of the local artist Luigi De Angelis, one of the most important "naiif" painters in Europe.

Il catino Borbonico è anche detto "Il monumento ricolmo di monumenti" proprio per la ricchezza di miti, storia e testimonianze che il sito lacustre contiene.

The hotel "Inn on the sea", was completely renewed in 2006.

All the rooms have private bathroom with shower, air conditioning and tv.

Breakfast is included in the price. Some of the rooms, particularly wide, are ideal for three or four beds.
