Description

FORCHIR has already celebrated its first century of operation.

The company, established at the beginning of the last century in Felettis di Bicinicco (bottling register UD-046), is one of the oldest wine-making estates in Friuli. In 1984, Antonio Forchir laid down in a notarized deed that the company continue to bear his name after its transfer to the current owners, Gianfranco Bianchini and Enzo Deana.

When they took over the historical FORCHIR company, Gianfranco Bianchini and Enzo Deana were determined to realize the project of making quality wines with the "terroir" concept: the unique interaction of the vine with the environment, a condition that cannot be duplicated in other areas. Soil and climate conditions in which the vines can express their full potential. A synergic relationship of soil, climate and vine.

- There are the estate's three grape-growing hubs (Felettis, Camino and Spilimbergo), where the vine is cultivated with a low environmental impact according to the EEC 2078 regulations requiring drastic limits in the use of fertilizers and pesticides.
- There is the Flumignano wine-making plant, where all the estate's grapes are delivered in September and October and undergo soft pressing and the vinification process at automatically controlled temperatures, in the absence of sulphur dioxide.
- There is the modern bottling plant of San Giorgio della Richinvelda, operating with an output of 3000 bottles per hour in a sterile air-conditioned environment ensuring an ideal wine conservation.

All this with the determination to offer the wine at the best balance of quality and price.

From its historical heart in Felettis di Bicinicco (with its heavy, clayey, ferritized soils), where the classic Merlot, Cabernet and Refosco thrive, the company expanded to the municipalities of Camino al Tagliamento and later to Spilimbergo, ideal microzones for the various types of white-grape varieties grown on the alluvial and gravelly soils called "magredi".
