The eastern part of the Elba between Rio Marina mines and Rio Elba green mountains is the most true and wild; particular beaches and pleasant black iron shining sandy coves or white calcareous ones give way to a crystal clear sea with silent and inaccessible islets. We are in a place of secular traditions and strong contrasts, of history and culture; we are in the Elba of perfumes and officinal herbs, the Elba of iron and mines, of the National Park and the Mineral Park.
Time has stopped here.
The arrival at "Il Termine" is magic. Let's leave the provincial road which links up Rio Marina and Cavo pleasant seafaring village: a bar with its melancholy notice "no entry" seemingly denies us to enter the territory of the Mineral Park, but at the same time it flatters us and rouses our interest.
So we enter.A slow and sinuous road climbs the mountain crossing some little ruby red lakes, old stopes, ancient powder magazines and suddenly we are hanging between the sea and the sky. We go down over an heavenly upland, framed by never-ending dry walls, real and unexpected oases at the end of our small village among mineral burning and iron colours.
Going ahead we discover the ancient stone farmhouse among olives and Mediterranean spot, the natural word for "iron vein", which is now a remarkable farmhouse.
The wonderful stone building has been restored following precise conservative criteria and recovering almost lost local building techniques.
The structure has six romantic rooms, all different in colours and furniture, overlooking a wonderful landscape.Wooden floors, ceilings done in terracotta tiles and exposed hand-hewn chestnut beams, beds with precious hand sewn bed-covers and textiles, Persian carpets and ancient furniture (valuable paintings, period furniture, etc) guarantee an exclusive and original ensemble for warmth, owner's taste and refinement; all rooms are provided with air-conditioning and Jacuzzi showers for the comfort of our guests.A mini hydromassage swimming pool is immersed in a holm-oak wood and opens the sight on the wonderful Cavo gulf, guaranteeing the guest some moments of pleasant relax.
The farmhouse "Il Termine" proposes its guests a refined and painstaking cuisine, based on Elban and Tuscan cuisine.
Our chef originally follows it by tradition of typical local and familiar recipes; unfailing ingredients are very fresh local fish and swine meat from Cinta Senese, which is bred in the holm-oak woods of the company. Our wineshop offers a strict selection of local and Etruscan Coast labels.
