Solofra is located in a basin along the scope of Picentini mountains; due to its natural geographic position, opening towards the sea, was almost certainly inhabited from very remote times. It was famous for its green landscapes during the past, today it is one of the most important industrial district in Italy, specialized in tanning.
This ancient tradition has transformed Solofra in very modern and dynamic centre.
Do not miss to visit the Collegiata of St. Michael, which preserves paintings dated back to 1550 and 1600 (the most famous is work of Francesco Guarino) and the majestic Palazzo Ducale.
