Description

Incudine is a small town in the province of Brescia, set in the high Val Camonica. Its territory is divided into two parts by the Oglio river and it is surrounded by pine forests and rough grazing (partly located in the Adamello park) where it is possible to enjoy relaxing walks in strict contact with nature.
It is mentioned for the first time in a documen of 1032 in which the Bishop of Brescia freed some towns of the area (including Incudine) from the control of Edolo.
In addition to the remains of the medieval castle, built along the road to Edolo, we suggest to visit the Parish church of San maurizio, realised during the XVII century, refurbished during the XX century, with a XVIII century bell-tower; inside it is possible to admire Baroque style decorations, a valuable altar-piece by Gian Giacomo Bornini and paintings by Gandino and Cossali.
Finally we have to mention the Church of San Bernardino da Siena (XV century) and the Sanctuary of San Vito and Sant'Anna, probably dating back to the XIV century.
