Many archaeological remains certify that the area was inhabited since the Greek and Roman period; however the foundation of Comiso occured in the Byzantine age, also growing during the Norman and Aragonese nomination.From the XV to the XVIII century, Comiso increate economically and in the population, under the Nasellis family; after the earthquake in 1693, the city was rebuilt in Baroque style.The Diana's Fountain, which collects the waters once flowing into a public Roman bath, the Mother Church dedicated to Santa Maria delle Stelle, the Church of San Francesco, with the Naselli crape, and the Church of Annunziata, with a beautiful neoclassic facade, worth a visit.
