Alife is a small town in the province of Caserta, located in the Volturno valley, rich in history, as many archaeological relics document. It is on the edge of the Matese Massif, a mountain complex of huge interest to climbers.The Alife plain, the remains of an old lake, conserves various, important testimonies from a historical and archaeological point of view. In fact, inside it still retains the quadrilateral circular Roman wall and medieval ruins. Also worth visiting, the Cathedral of St. Maria Assunta and its Paleo-Christian crypt .
