March 27, 2009
- January 10, 2010
An important exhibition dedicated to the Flavian Clan with particular attention paid to Vespasian, the great emperor who was born 2000 years ago on 17 November, is underway.
Vespasian is remembered as a simple man gifted with a notable sense of humour. Thanks precisely to his humble origins and his upbringing he was able to replace the most noted family of high nobility in ancient times the Julio-Claudian Clan.
The exhibition is spread across two halls: la Curia in the Forum, which has been especially opened to the public, and the Criptoportico (Cybele's temple) on the Palatine, which was built during Nero's reign.
You are also invited to visit the open air Flavian monuments the Arch of Titus, the Domus Flavia (Flavian Palace), the Temple of the Divine Vespasian and the Temple of Pace.
