“…the most sovereign master of painting…”

Rome

An exhibition on the works of Giotto begins at the Vittoriano (Piazza Venezia) from 6 March. The vast collection is the first important event dedicated the artist and symbol of the end of the Middle Ages for 70 years.
The 150 priceless works gathered from all over Italy are testament to the great influence the Florentine had over his contemporaries and successors. Works are not only limited to paintings as significant space has been made available for his creations in gold, manuscripts and sculpture.
